Where do river cruise ships dock in Paris? There are two ports on the Seine River in Paris at which they can dock. If you have already taken a river cruise to or from Paris, then you are probably somewhat familiar with the location of the two ports. And if you have not, you may be wondering where you’ll board your ship.
Not to worry, though, because this information will be included in your travel documents. If you have not yet booked your cruise on the Seine River, you may be curious to know which port river cruise companies use for docking in Paris.
The two ports are located in Quai André Citroën and Quai de Grenelle in the 15th Arrondissement in Paris. Both are located on the left bank of the Seine River and are about 1.4 miles apart from each other. The Eiffel Tower is located 0.6 miles from Port Quai de Grenelle and 2 miles from Port de Javel Bas in Quai André Citroën.
With regard to boarding, some river cruise companies provide the information on their websites. Others will provide it only in the travel documents. Most companies will provide this information to guests prior to their departures. Only Avalon Waterways states that it cannot know the docking position in Paris in advance. This is the information the company provided when asked about where its ships dock in Paris:
“Docking position is not known in advance, as we are only advised of our position shortly prior to docking. The position is dependent upon river traffic and where other ships are in port at that time.
There is no way for us to provide the exact dock location of the Avalon Creativity and Tapestry II right now. Due to various departure times for these vessels, the ships are frequently moved and re-docked in new locations throughout the day. For this reason, we have established the “Pre-Cruise Meeting” location. This is generally a hotel that is centrally located and from where all cruise participants will be transferred to the ship. The Important Travel Documents will include the name and the address of the Pre-Cruise Meeting location.
If a passenger is not able to be at the Pre-Cruise Meeting location, we recommend they contact the Cruise Director at 3:00 pm at the telephone number listed in their Important Travel Documents to confirm an alternate meeting location and confirm the ship’s docking position.
Please note: passengers are not allowed to board the ship until approximately 4:00 pm.”
