Some fabulous news for those who have always wanted to visit Egypt: The Travel Corporation family of brands – which includes Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection along with noteworthy land-based operators Contiki, Insight Vacations and Trafalgar – will resume operations in Egypt for the 2014/2015 season.
Current plans call for Uniworld to resume cruisetour operations along the Nile in September 2015. Contiki and Busabout will resume this September, and Trafalgar and Insight Vacations will return to the region in January.

Brett Tollman, CEO of The Travel Corporation, said: “We have been monitoring the destination closely, and after extensive consultation with our teams on the ground – and in speaking with our travel partners in each market – we are pleased to confirm a return to Egypt later this year. At The Travel Corporation, our customers are at the heart of everything we do. Guest safety is the utmost priority and so we will maintain constant dialogue with colleagues in the region ahead of our planned re-commencement dates.
“With a legacy of bringing visitors to Egypt for more than three decades with some of The Travel Corporation’s brands, our long-standing commitment to and support of Egypt has been significant. We are seeing pent-up demand for the destination and are delighted to be able to elevate our support for this truly remarkable part of the world. Travel and tourism have historically represented approximately 30 percent of Egypt’s GDP, making it critically important that we as an industry show our support at this time for this great country and its proud peoples’ economic recovery.”

Tollman also revealed that Uniworld’s River Tosca will undergo a refurbishment before entering service again. He noted that exact travel dates and pricing will become available for each of TTC’s brands within the next few months.
A press release issued by TTC states that the company continues to observe all United States Department of State Travel Alerts and Warnings and continues to recommend guests adhere to such advice, and that additional updates about the resumption of service within Egypt would follow.
We will pass those updates along to you here on River Cruise Advisor as they are made available.
can you give me a link to their itineraries, and have you heard of any safety percautions they have planned while passengers are intransit?
Hello, This is Linda Huntington with All Travel. We work closely with Ralph on many of his inquiries. As Egypt begins to re-open to travelers, we are working in conjunction with the TSA and Homeland Security. All precautions for US Travelers are updated regularly. Since Uniworld will be offering cruises in Egypt, September 2015, they are well aware of the situation at hand, and are also monitoring. In the unlikely event that another situation arises precluding travel in 2015, Uniworld will make any necessary changes. Passenger safety is of the utmost importance to Uniworld and All Travel passengers.
Uniworld has not set dates for their cruises in Egypt for 2015. It is still on the drawing board. I hope that this information is helpful to you. Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions or concerns. I can be reached at 800-225-3614 extension 151 or via email at [email protected]
Thank you
Linda
