We’re always looking to add new content here on River Cruise Advisor, and in the last week we’ve been hard at work creating some exciting new profiles for one of the largest – and longest-running – river cruise operators in Europe, CroisiEurope River Cruises.

Founded by Gérard Schmitter in 1976, CroisiEurope River Cruises is still a family run business, responsible for the construction, ownership and day-to-day operations of 30 river cruise vessels that are capable of carrying between 100 and 200 passengers. In 2014, the company will take delivery of an additional three vessels, bringing its fleet to a total of 33 river cruise ships.
CroisiEurope is one of the few river cruise lines to offer sailings on all of Europe’s most popular rivers — and has 37 years of experience to back up its expertise. This allows CroisiEurope to concentrate on providing its passengers with exceptional food, excellent service and creative itineraries that are designed to appeal to both experienced and novice river cruisers alike.

The line also has a style that is entirely its own, offering not only river cruises but also barge cruises. This year, the company launched Jeanine, a barge designed to sail the intimate canals of France. If you’ve put off barging because you’ve been concerned about how well you’ll adapt to cruising with just six to eight other guests, Jeanine might be the ship for you: She can hold more than 20 guests and features modern staterooms and public spaces that would look right at home on a much larger ship.
The line also offers coastal cruises in the Mediterranean aboard ships that can almost be thought of as half cruise ship, half river cruise vessel.
