The Avalon Imagery II, one of Avalon Waterways‘ newest Suite Ships, will begin serving the river cruise market in April 2016. Itineraries will be available on the Rhine River between Basel and Amsterdam with 8- to 14-day itineraries.
Built with the same specifications as the other Avalon Suite Ships, she is 361 feet long and carries up to 128 passengers and 37 crew members. The ship has 4 decks and features 52 suites and 12 deluxe staterooms as well as plenty of amenities, such as a few different dining venues and lounges, a fitness center, whirlpool and hair salon and so much more.

The Avalon Deluxe Staterooms are the smallest cabins available on the Avalon Imagery II. However, they’re rather large by industry standards. They measure 172 square feet in size. Both Categories D and E are located on the Indigo Deck (Deck 1) and feature two large windows located toward the ceiling. There are only 12 Deluxe Staterooms available
The Panorama Suite is the most common category on the Avalon Imagery II. Staterooms in this category are 200 square feet and are located on Decks 2 and 3. There are 50 cabins available, and they are equally split between the two decks. Categories A and B are located on the Sapphire Deck (Deck 2), and Category P suites are located on the Royal Deck (Deck 3).
Royal Suites are the largest cabins featured on the Avalon Imagery II. Located on the third deck, there are only two staterooms available in this category – #306 and #308. They occupy a space of 300 square feet.
Both the Panorama and Royal Suites have a wall-to-wall window with an open-air balcony, a six-person sitting area, a sofa and coffee table. These additional amenities, however, are not included in the Avalon Deluxe Staterooms.
All staterooms feature Comfort Collection Beds (SM) fitted with a premium mattress topper, Egyptian super-combed, fine cotton linens and a European-style Duvet. Other furnishings include bedside tables with reading lamps, a writing desk and a flat-screen TV with movie channel.
Bathrooms have a full-size shower with a glass door. And, for added comfort, guests are provided with premium L’Occitaine bath products, a bathrobe and slippers.
A few other amenities are found in the cabins, such as a well-stocked minibar, in-room safe and individual climate control.
AVALON IMAGERY II Public
There are quite a few areas for guests to dine and also to socialize onboard the Avalon Imagery II. On the Royal Deck (Deck 3), guests can opt for a lighter meal at the Panorama Bistro or at the Sky Bistro on the Sky Deck (Deck 4). For those who prefer traditional dining, the Main Dining Room is located on the Sapphire Deck (Deck 2).
The ship features a few different lounges where guests can socialize – the Panorama Lounge on the Royal Deck, the Sky Lounge on the Sky Deck and the Club Lounge on the Sapphire Deck.
There is also a Deck Gaming Area and an Outdoor Deck with Premium Lounge Chairs and Awnings located on the top deck. Nice for those who want to enjoy the fresh air and experience the passing scenery from the outdoors.
A few other spots to mention, include the Internet Corner, Atrium and Hair Salon on the Royal Deck, the Navigation Bridge and Whirlpool on the Sky Deck and the Fitness Room on the Indigo Deck. So, you can see, there are quite a few Public Areas on the Avalon Imagery II for guests to enjoy.
