I listen to all Avid Travel with Britton Frost podcasts, but it was her recent interview with Kristin Karst that really struck a chord with me. Kristin, as many of you may know, is the co-founder and executive vice president of AmaWaterways. Her genuine warmth is what imbues Ama with what guests often refer to as a “feeling of family” on board Ama’s ships.
In last week’s podcast, Celebrating the Holidays with AmaWaterways, at 18 minutes 50 seconds into the interview, Britton asked Kristin what her favorite excursion was on her last cruise. “I’m actually quite proud of something that happened,” Kristin said. Her favorite excursion turned out to be a hike with her 85-year-old mother. “She’s an avid river cruiser,” Kristin said. “She said to me, I want to hike up to the fortress.” Kristin asked if she was up to it, because it was quite a hike. Her mother replied, “Let’s do it.”
It’s a lovely story, and I encourage you to give it a listen, which you can do by clicking the play button below the photos.
