One day after disembarking Crystal Debussy, I received a phone call from one of the six guests who accompanied me. “Possibly the best cruise ever,” the experienced cruiser said. I had to agree. Just as was the case with Crystal Bach on the Rhine and Moselle in October of 2019, Crystal Debussy exceeded our expectations.
Four reasons that come to mind as to why: 1) the elegant vessel itself; 2) the beauty of the Moselle river; 3) the personable and professional staff; and 4) the quality of the dining experience.
No venue highlights the dining better than The Vintage Room. The alternative dining venue is one of the only “activities” on Crystal Debussy that carries an extra charge. We opted for a four-course “wine tour” dinner for 199 euros per person (the six-course dinner goes for 299 euros).
Our evening in The Vintage Room, which began with a sunset toast on the top deck, was certainly one of the highlights of our cruise. I’ve included a photo of our menu below. The Vintage Room is about as close as it gets to a Michelin-starred experience on a river cruiser.

We will be leaving 11/7 for our Danube River Cruise on Crystal’s Raval. We have reserved a spot for the Vintage Room and just hope others do too ir we are out ?

Such a fantastic and memorable dinner! We had a delightful time on the cruise and were incredibly impressed with the Crystal Debussy. If anyone goes on a Crystal river cruise, be sure to book a dinner in the Vintage Room!
It sure was special. It’s amazing to me how sometimes savoring the experience afterward is almost as sweet. Here we are back home for a week now, and the experience still lives with me (and also some of the calories unfortunately!)
We have made our reservation for the Vintage Room on our Crystal River Cruise, but I believe there must be a party of 6 for the Vintage Room. We will try to find 4 others or it will be a no-go!!!!!
