Scenic offers guests automatic coverage through its River Cruise Cover program. According to Scenic’s website, you will be covered automatically once your cruise starts for any delays or cancellations due to weather, natural disasters, mechanical breakdowns, or strikes. This coverage is included in the cruise fare, and guests will not have to do anything to take advantage of the program.

Not only does this type of coverage usually cost travelers money, but it also costs them peace of mind. Without any kind of travel insurance, you are risking losing your entire cruise fare due to unforeseen events. We know this well due to the impacts of high and low water on the European rivers that we have seen over the past year.
It is important to note, however, that this is not a travel insurance policy. This will only cover delays or cancellations after the journey has commenced.
