Crystal’s new river cruises are selling well. Within hours of unveiling fares this past Monday, the company reported a “tremendous response” in bookings for its five luxury vessels, the first of which is set to embark in July 2016 and the other four in 2017.
The five inaugural voyages, which are exclusively open to Crystal Society members (Crystal’s loyalty guest program) through December 15, were more than 40 percent booked as of Tuesday. Additionally, Crystal tells us it is seeing significant booking activity for its maiden voyages in Paris along the Seine River, and Bordeaux while cruising through the Garonne and Dordogne Rivers and Gironde Estuary.
“We expected strong reservations for these sailings … but these numbers are overwhelming,” says Crystal’s president and CEO Edie Rodriguez. “It simply reaffirms that we are on the right path, continuing to offer global luxury travelers more of what they seek – the very highest standard in their vacation experiences.”
Crystal Mozart, Crystal Debussy, Crystal Bach, Crystal Ravel and Crystal Mahler will each sail specific regions within Western Europe, including Austria, Germany, France, Netherlands and other gems along the Rhine, Main, Danube, Seine, Garonne and Dordogne Rivers. Itineraries range from five to 16 nights, with specially planned holiday voyages focused around the regions’ quintessential Christmas markets, popular attractions and shopping locales.
Aboard the first river-yacht vessel, Crystal Mozart, all-inclusive cruise-only fares begin at $3,435 per person for a 10-day round-trip Vienna sailing.
