If you’re looking to river cruise this year but want to make the journey solo, all-inclusive river cruise operator Tauck has once again announced they will be eliminating the single supplement on all of its Category 1 European riverboat staterooms. In addition, Tauck is also reducing the single supplement by up to $1,000 on 161 of the company’s departures this year, spanning 62 itineraries that traverse four continents.

“Solo travelers love the camaraderie and sense of assurance they experience on our land tours and cruises,” said Tauck CEO Dan Mahar, “and we handle all of the advance planning and details for our guests, so there’s no anxiety or worry. Traveling with Tauck is great choice for solo travelers, and with our single supplement savings, we’re making it even better.”
Tauck is also trying to welcome solo guests in other unique and innovative ways. Aboard the company’s new ms Inspire and ms Savor, Tauck has set aside four dedicated cabins designed specifically for solo cruisers. Online, Tauck features a special “Solo Travel Forum” and Solo Travel section on their company website to provide additional resources for guests who may be travelling alone, or who are considering travelling alone.
The savings aren’t just available for river cruises, either. Tauck has also reduced the single supplement by up to $400 on 48 of their land tour departures, encompassing a total of 18 different land tour itineraries. The company has been equally thorough in North America, taking up to $300 off the single supplement on 48 departures on 19 separate itineraries. And within its “Exotics” portfolio, Tauck has trimmed the single supplement by $300 to $600 on 28 departures of 10 different trips in Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.
Back on the waterways of Europe, solo travel and river cruising go hand in hand. Here at River Cruise Advisor, we’ve sailed solo numerous times and have found the onboard environment aboard all river cruise ships to be warm and welcoming. In fact, as a solo traveller, you’re likely to get more attention and social interaction than you might otherwise as a couple. For those who want to see the world and make new friends at the same time, a solo river cruise is one of the best options you can take. With Tauck’s new special promotion, it’s also more affordable than ever before.
