On select sailings of Uniworld’s popular Enchanting Danube itinerary, guests will be treated to exclusive performances by Elisabeth von Trapp, granddaughter of Maria (who passed away at the age of 99 this week) and Baron von Trap whose story helped inspire The Sound of Music. From June until September, these select voyages invite travelers to join von Trapp in the picturesque town of Salzburg, Austria to enjoy highlights from The Sound of Music, along with Georgian chants, American hymns, and her own original compositions.
If you’re a huge fan of the film, more good news: Guests will be invited to participate in a sing-along of “Do-Re-Mi” at the famed garden where the 1964 movie was shot.
Guests sailing on Uniworld’s European Serenade, Danube Discovery and Grand European River voyages will even be able to enjoy Elisabeth von Trapp on their river cruise ship.
“We are delighted to provide these exclusive performances on 36 of our summer 2014 departures and offer guests the opportunity to enjoy and participate in a truly special musical event,” said Guy Young, President of Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection.
On bookings made before February 28, 2014, Uniworld is also offering up to $800 per couple in savings on select river cruise itineraries, including the massive Grand European River Voyage that operates between Amsterdam and Istanbul and spans 29 days in length.
