The last time I posted a video on this site, I got my hand slapped from a reader who felt that videos had no place on a blog. But, I am sticking my neck out once again this Friday with another video.
Let’s get a few things out of the way first: yes, the video was created by tour-operator Tauck. Yes, the video is designed to promote Tauck and its itineraries. But I have watched this video over and over for the past few months, and every time I do, it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand out.
Tauck called this video How You See the World Matters. Tauck meant, obviously, for the message to refer to its inclusive river cruises and “Uncommon Access” philosophy that is applied to the company’s land tour packages.

But I think Tauck unwittingly created a fantastic promotional video for the river cruise industry as a whole. I’ve had friends, family and colleagues ask, “Why should I take a river cruise?”
In every instance, I refer them to this video.
In every instance, they end up booking.
So, on this first Friday of June, I’d love to show prospective river cruisers out there why they should consider a cruise on any line.
Experienced river cruisers may find reasons to sail with Tauck. From my experience on Tauck, the video isn’t an exaggeration; quite simply put, this is how every Tauck river cruise operates.
