There are many aspects to a successful river cruise, and Pandaw River Cruises is offering guests the ability to skip the need for a hotel stay in Mandalay and Pagan by creating a new river cruise product that features two days moored aboard ship in Pagan and two days spent in Mandalay.
Mandalay is served by direct daily flights from both Bangkok and Singapore, and Pagan is only a three-hour drive away. By getting away from Rangoon and the main tourist areas, guests will have a chance to better explore the local villages nestled in the countryside, where little has changed over the intervening decades.
The new itineraries will be operated aboard the RV Orient Pandaw and the RV Saigon Pandaw, both of which are designed to replicate the golden age of colonial river steamers. Each vessel boasts staterooms measuring no less than 170 square feet, furnished with ample teak and brass accents. Together, they have one of the highest passenger-to-space ratios of any ship in the region.
The schedule for these new cruises will be as follows:
- Upstream: Every Saturday transfer from Mandalay airport to embark Pagan, following Saturday 09:00 disembark Mandalay with transfer to airport.
- Downstream: Every Saturday transfer from Mandalay airport to embark Mandalay and following Saturday 09:00 disembark Pagan with transfer to airport.
Like all Pandaw voyages, these new sailings will include airport transfers and all meals along with coffee, tea, mineral water, and guided excursions ashore in the cost of the cruise.
