Avalon Waterways marked a major milestone last week as the company christened the newest member of its fleet: the 361-foot long Avalon Artistry II.
The line’s fourth Suite Ship was christened during a ceremony that took place on April 12 in Middleburg, Netherlands. Marilen Sandejas-Yaptangco, President of Manila-based Baron Travel, performed the ceremonial duties as the ship’s Godmother.

Like Suite Ship pioneer Avalon Panorama, the new Avalon Artistry II will feature just 12 staterooms and 52 sumptuous suites, two full decks of which will boast the line’s signature Wall-to-Wall Panoramic Windows that transform rooms into a gigantic, open-air balcony.
Mindful of giving guests the maximum amount of choice possible, Avalon Waterways has outfitted the new Avalon Artistry II with multiple dining venues, lounges and public spaces — perfect for a relaxing day spent sailing the waterways of Europe, or enjoying a casual meal in the ship’s Sky Bistro.
Avalon Artistry II also boasts plenty of other attractive features, like a fitness center, hair salon, and a whirlpool located on the ship’s Sky Deck.
Avalon Waterways isn’t done just yet, though. Next month, the line will take delivery of its fifth Suite Ship, the new Avalon Expression. She will be christened by Patricia Schultz, author of the bestselling book 1000 Places to See before You Die.
